A roundup of terrazzo goodness for your home

Terrazzo is back (again).

Well, technically….it’s been back and very on-trend for the last couple of years and it’s no surprise to me with such universal love of all things Mid-Century modern in the last 5-10 years. In case you have no clue what I’m referring to – this playful, confetti-like material is a composite consisting of chips of marble, quartz, granite and glass and can usually be seen on walls and floors. It’s more commonly associated with schools, metro stations, and 1970s office buildings than with our homes until now.

The latest versions of terrazzo surfaces play with scale + color and serve as a fun graphic element, where past versions (especially from the 70’s) were a bit duller and condensed. There are a ton of beautiful bathrooms and kitchens on Pinterest that are drool-worthy, but you can also find the speckled goodness in home decor, accessories, furniture, lighting….even jewelry. The material is so versatile – the sky is the limit!

Let’s get into some terrazzo eye candy from around the inter-webs:

Gah, I love it!

If you aren’t ready for a full on terrazzo bathroom, I’ve rounded up some smaller items to scratch that itch and add some speckled flavor to your home. The links are below the graphic.
