6 EASY TIPS TO DRESS UP YOUR FRONT DOOR

Hey guys!

I’m back after a bit of a break from the blog….you know the pandemic hit and I had to become a teacher/cleaner/counselor/cook/entertainer + more in an instant so the blog had to hop in the back seat and chill.... But I’m back! And I’m excited to team up with my friends Home Centric and share a couple of easy tips to spruce up your front door! Even though we aren’t having guests over/inside at the moment, it still feels good to show our homes some love – even just to make us feel a bit better, right? Times are crazy and I’m all about finding joy in the small things!

Anyways, let’s get to the tips!

1. Clean up!

It’s amazing what a little power washing sesh can do on a deck or driveway, right? I get out the leaf blower and clear out all of the dirt + debris + spiderwebs and then hit it with the hose. There is nothing design-y (or revolutionary, for that matter) about this tip but I love starting any type of project/activity with a clean slate!

2. Update with paint.

If you can’t replace an old door, you can always paint it! Try experimenting with a bold color (or go dark!) to create contrast with your home’s siding/trim. And swap out dated hardware with something fresh + modern.

3. Let there be light.

Changing out an old light (or one you don’t like) is always a good idea! It’s a super easy and very impactful little change to up your curb appeal. For more impact, go big on the sconces!

4. Pull up a chair.

A place to sit, read or even chat with a neighbor (at 6’ distance, of course) instantly creates a warm and inviting vibe.

5. Add in some color and/or life.

A couple of potted flowers placed by the front door is an easy way to add a nice color pop! For some added interest, try varying sizes of plant stands or stools to play with height and create layers.

6. Accessorize!

Warm-up your entry by adding in a welcoming wreath. Swap out the basic house numbers for something clean and modern to catch the eye. For a polished and sophisticated look, try matching the house numbers, entrance hardware, mailbox in the same color, finish or style.

Even though the inside of my house is a mess, I can step outside on the front porch for a moment of peace and quiet. And that is something we could all use!

Thanks for reading and stay safe out there!
